Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have always been the living, breathing example of opposites attract. Even though they both come from blue-collar beginnings and wound up with a similar career path, their lifestyle choices are vastly different — and it’s reportedly a source for some of their marital strife. An insider is now revealing that the “honeymoon phase has worn off” and Lopez and Affleck are left to decide “whether or not the relationship is right for both of them.” The source explained to Us Weekly that the Argo star just “doesn’t agree with Jennifer’s lifestyle.” Even though they don’t elaborate further on the details, it’s not hard to see Affleck’s exhausted face every time he steps on a red carpet. Lopez is booked and busy these days with multiple projects, including her This Is Me… Now Tour, so that means a lot of public face time. He feels “worn down” by the constant press tours and they are on “two completely different pages most of the time.”

Affleck made it pretty clear in Lopez’s Amazon Prime documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, that he gave in somewhat when it came to living out their relationship in the press. “Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media. Then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of like, you’re gonna marry a boat captain, and you go, ‘Well, I don’t like the water,’” he explained. “[We are] two people with different kinds of approaches trying to learn to compromise.”
One thing is clear though, they both respect and love each other, but their lifestyle differences might be too vast at this stage in life. “He’s always been impressed about how she works so hard and has achieved so much success,” a Hollywood insider told People. “But the openness and promotion is not his way.” It’s a tricky path for Lopez and Affleck to navigate.
