Who doesn’t love Tom Selleck? The beloved American actor, now 77, brings us back to the good old days and the classic films and shows we all enjoyed watching.
We most notably remember him as the private investigator Thomas Magnum in the popular television series Magnum P.I. and as Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby and Three Men and a Little Lady.
But did you know he had a little lady in real life too?
Well, not quite so little anymore. Tom Selleck’s daughter Hannah Margaret Selleck is now 34 years old — and as charming as ever.
In 1987, Tom Selleck married Jillie Mack, and a year later, their daughter Hannah was born. Tom, a great fan of nature and the outdoors, was keen on sharing his love with his daughter. And soon enough, he’d sure passed his passion over to her!
Following her birth, Tom and Jillie bought a 65-acre ranch in Ventura County, California, away from the Hollywood spotlight.
“We both thought it was the best environment for [Hannah] to grow up,” said her mother, Jillie.
Although she has dabbled in the entertainment business, she decided not to follow in her parent’s footsteps.
Tom, Jillie, and Hannah enjoyed a peaceful life on their 65-acre ranch in California, and Hannah was brought up in a beautiful environment, with both ranch horses and retired movie horses at home.
Tom also cut back on his acting career to make sure he had loads of time to spend with his wife and beloved daughter.
”I quit Magnum to have a family,” he told People in 2012.
”It took a long time to get off the train, but I try very hard to have balance, and this ranch has helped me do that.”
It’s precisely on that ranch that Hannah had her first encounter with horses, riding her first one when she was only four.
By the time she was 14, Hannah had become serious about horses.
She says her dad and mom have always encouraged her to pursue her passion for horses.
“Because [my parents are] both artists, they believe in the idea that you have to be very passionate about what you do to be successful,” Hannah told Eqliving and added:
“They encouraged me to be passionate about it and immersed in it, and from there it was kind of on me how much I wanted it. They always let me take the lead. If I wanted to move barns or trainers, that was my decision.”
Hannah graduated from Loyola Marymount University in California with a degree in communications but then took the decision to pursue riding professionally.
During her college years, she began to sign up for competitions and soon even opened up her own horse breeding stable.
”My dad encouraged it a lot,” she said. ”He liked the idea of developing the babies and developing young horses, so he was a big supporter of this idea.”
At age 34, Hannah is a stunning young woman. She has her dad to thank both for her good lucks — and passion for the outdoors!
Hannah has followed her father a bit in his stardom footsteps, modeling over the years — but her main passion has always remained her horses.
“As a kid [my parents] tried to raise me as normally as possible given my dad’s line of work,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
”Those horses have been a great way for me to have my own accomplishments outside of whatever my parents had done.”
I think both Tom and Hannah are role models we can all look up to!
