Julia Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder, celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on July 4, 2022. The couple married on Independence Day in 2002, on Roberts’ ranch in Taos, New Mexico.
On Thursday, the actress marked the occasion with an Instagram post, simply captioning it “TWENTY TWO YEARS,” accompanied by heart, celebratory emojis, and an American flag.
The couple has three children together: 19-year-old twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, and a 17-year-old son, Henry.
In a heartwarming interview on CBS Mornings with Gayle King last year, Roberts shared that she remains “embarrassingly” smitten with her husband after all these years.
“He’s just my favorite human,” she said. “He’s so smart and kind and dynamic in the way that he looks at the world and admires people. He’s just so strong and loving.”
Roberts and Moder met on the set of the 2001 film The Mexican and worked together again in 2015 on Secret in Their Eyes. Reflecting on working with her husband, Roberts said, “There were times we would look at each other and think, ‘OK, if you’re here for me, I’m here for you,’ and we’d go a little bit more.”
In a 2022 interview, Roberts expressed that while her acting career was her dream, her home life holds even greater significance. “It’s just never consumed me being an actor,” she said. “It is my dream come true, but it is not my only dream come true.”
The award-winning actress still considers being a “homemaker” her primary role. “The life that I have built with my husband,” she shared. “The life that we’ve built with our children. That’s the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day, triumphantly to them.”
